Parents as Teachers

Our December 2019 meeting featured Yolanda Lewis from Parents as Teachers. According the the WFISD website, Parents as Teachers (PAT) is an international early childhood parent education and family support program serving families throughout pregnancy until their child enters kindergarten at age 5. The program is designed to give children the best possible start in life, and to support parents in their role as their child's first and most influential teacher.

Ms. Lewis provided an overview of the program and examples of specific ways that the PAT team is able to help young families in Wichita Falls. WFISD's PAT program is one of few Texas PAT organizations to be awarded a prestigious 'blue ribbon' and we are so fortunate to have this great resource in our community.

We hope to see you at our next meeting, January 8, 2020 at Luby's at noon.
